Learn more about Fine Art Association

The meaning of Fine Art: Art which emerges from the artist’s needs to express himself, and which is appreciated for its beauty and significance.

Dear friends, I am proud to present a project that has been very near and dear to my heart for a long time: FineArt Association. After years of actively participating in wedding photography contests all over the world, I decided to create a unique association. Over time, I became aware that the most important gain from constantly participating in these events was the enhancement of my ability to curate. This ability not only serves the purposes for contests, but it also boosts the process of advertising our work as photographers. Our marketing strategies and the content we advertise will define our customer’s profile. Having the ideal customers may be at the center of succeeding - or not - in our professional goals. That is how much the ability to curate is important.

I also noticed that the participation in contests helped me develop my creative process; because in order to create something new we have to try out different ways of shooting pictures and we cannot be afraid of making mistakes. For this reason, winning or “losing” was equally important to me; the awarded photos gave me clues about what I was doing right. As a result, the main objective of FineArt is to boost our member’s creative process with especially insightful comments on their awarded photos. Voting reports with the scores from the contests are also available for members (the highest scoring photos have a better chance for approval after resubmission).

One of the things I hear most from my colleagues is that they do not participate in contests for a main reason: they simply do not understand the criteria used by judges to award a photo. Creating categories makes criteria clearer, also, photos which maybe would not stand a chance of winning in an overall competition might have better chances in a specific category.

To me, this association is a means to an end, not an end in itself. The association does not exist for itself; it becomes real with YOUR support and participation; your help to make it a vehicle for great things to happen in the future!

Thank you!
